Back To Bedlam: St Augustines Asylum, Chartham. July 2013

So, in an earlier post, I’d mentioned that I would be going back to St Augustines before the builders move in. Their arrival is imminent, so I thought I’d capture a few more seconds of that perfect stillness…

I found a hidden staircase this time; climbing them takes you to the second floor, or what’s left of it after it was virtually wiped out by fire. It left the pipework in situ which made for some great silhouettes as the sun set. Returning back to the dark made for another sphincter-tightening moment…

So lucky to have this literally behind the house. Being converted to a school this year – so must get back in for another session before it’s too late.
